Guest Ratings & Reviews
The hotel's rooms need a complete makeover; they were filthy with black mold, small, and noisy due to traffic. It took ages for the radiator to warm up, making it cold and uncomfortable. The service was superb, with the staff being incredibly helpful and friendly. The location of the hotel was excellent, just a 10-minute walk from York Minster, close to amenities, but draughty due to poor insulation. The dining experience was average, with gluten-free options available, but not worth the extra cost. The facilities need improvement.
I couldn't have been happier with this hotel! The room was very comfortable, especially the bed, and the cooked breakfast, although a separate cost at £8 per person, was excellent. Being located right above a pub that serves good food in a great location was a definite plus.
The hotel offers a budget-friendly stay with rooms that may appear a bit dated, but at the price offered, it's still a great deal. The service was welcoming and friendly, with a nice touch of a welcome drink. The location is convenient, close to the city wall and within walking distance of the city center. The dining experience, although not personally experienced, seemed superb with cooked-to-order tasty meals. Overall, a value-for-money option with some room for improvement in room aesthetics and dining variety.
